A celebration of rich industrial heritage, weaving brand and place through graphic storytelling and sculptural form
Highgate Studio
We were commissioned to design and develop a bold and characterful wayfinding scheme for Highgate Studios, bringing clarity and cohesion to both external and internal touchpoints across the site.
Inspired by the studio’s rich industrial heritage, the scheme takes a playful yet considered approach — weaving together brand and place through graphic storytelling and sculptural form. Simple line illustrations nod to the building’s past as a factory, depicting industrial processes where used in 2D and 3D physical forms.
A-frame structures, built from tubular forms that echo the curves found in Sanderson’s wallpaper once produced on-site, are wrapped in flowing patterns and navigational graphics. These contours animate the forms, creating a sense of movement and creative energy.
Enhanced navigation and destination visibility were achieved through striking highlights of orange, which punctuate the totems and building signs. These vibrant accents cut through the industrial backdrop, adding a confident visual rhythm to the campus.

Authenticity at the core.
Our approach to the signage and wayfinding of the building was no different, utilising craft to inform the materiality and application at every touchpoint. Not only to honour traditional methods, but also to weave in a layer of storytelling, encourage conversation, and cultivate an authentic sense of place.
